Looking for the brake gurus.

I'm in the process of ordering Front and Rear Rotors and Pads for my 03 VIII.

Up to this point I've ran just stock rotors. And 2 sets of stock pads and 1 set of the cheapo Project Mu pads (can't remember the model).

Either way. It's time to do the whole car again. And I'm looking at viable options.

My budget is 1K or less for pads and rotors. The car sees mostly street duty. With the very occasional auto-x. Though the few events I do should really have no bearing on overall selection.

What I'm looking for is something that won't burn up in 10-15k miles. But will still offer better feed back and fade resistance. I hate the "wooden" feeling the stock pads had. And both those and the PMU seemed to go away with just aggresive street driving.

So what are your suggestions?

Thank You

Jeremy

Have you looked into Hawk HPS or the Ferodo 2500's? I've heard good things about each of those.

For rotors I would suggest rotorpros. You can get front and rear on ebay for a good price. Had the for over three years and had no issues. This is even with almost weekly autocross during the summertime.

The Ferodo 2500's were on my list, as were the Hawk HP+. I've run the HPS's on my Suby before, and they just weren't aggressive enough for my liking. So I imagine they won't impress on the Evo either.

Try Porterfield's

http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/. I use the R4-S. Braking qualities are great and also easy on the rotors.
