Total weight of the Comp spacer is less than 1/2 pound. Hardley think the customer or the vehicle would notice that kind of weight. If you want to get that critical, why dont you weigh the lug hardware, centering rings, and center caps? You seem to be very concerned with the spacer weight Value. If you like, I can go to the warehouse and physically weigh the spacer to put you mind at ease. The weight of the wheel is exactly that, the weight of the wheel alone. Every time you bolt a wheel to a car you add rotational weight to it. I would not let this sway your decision black_evil_evo, It all sits on what you think look best on your car and falls into your budget. SSR is an excellent wheel and I have had great customer feedback and personal results from them. Unfortunately I cannot speak for Advan as I do not carry them. I am sure you would not be disappointed if you chose the Comps.

Need to weigh the spacers because you don't need them anyway if you get the right SSR wheels.

Value, if that is your car, could you post a full pic of those wheels and the car? I would love to have those wheels in that color for my Evo.

I bought the SSR Competition.
The wheel spacers weigh less than a quarter pounder with cheese.
I bought the pole position 03 tires with the wheels.
I don't know why the decals are not on the wheels when they arrive.
It is free advertising for SSR.
I did not install the decals yet.
They have missed a month of free advertising already.

So Value, what offset comps are on that EVO, and also are those 18's? The reason I ask is that I thought they only made the gold comps in 18" . I would really like to put comps on my car, but had heard that spacers were required.

I had the 17" anthracite ssr comps on my white WRX and they were awesome. The gold looks great on white too though!

As far as spacers go I had to use H&R spacers and bolts on my dropped Turbo S Beetle and they were a pain in the @$$. I had the centering rings crack on both of mine in the rear.

While I was an MCoupe owner, one of the guys who tracked his coupe at Laguna Seca reported having a rear wheel come off as the result of cleanly snapped bolts at the spacer/hub junction. He wasn't sure if it was due to the spacers for sure, but he was concerned for sure as the ride was pretty hairy.

Bottom line for me personally is no spacers ever again ....no way, no how especially not in a car that gets put through its paces through the corners like the Evo does.

BTW- If there is a majical fitment for comps that you are aware of please share!

The wheels I posted are not the SSR tire rack comps but the SSR Type-C wheel which has fittings for the EVO without the use of spacers. Sizes are 17 x 8.5 +30 and 18 x 8.5 +32MM .
