No I'm not, but I was a chassis consultant on his superspeedway and intermediate cars and now supply his midget and sprint car teams, but who cares. I just wanted to try this out on an evo. Is that ok with you? If it works great, if it does not oh well. At least I building something and trying to contribute instead of ... its not worth the response.

We're just talking. There is no need to get upset. I really do await your results. I don't think it'll work very well, but my hunches are wrong all the time. Why start this thread if you didn't want to discuss?

No problem it's cool to get challenged, you bring up some valid points and that helped to clarify what I was trying to say. Thank You

Welcome to my world Indy EVO I'm personally looking forward to what you are doing since I am an Apexi N1 user/supporter. I love them for their lightweight and cost. As you already know I have them on our black drag car that has gone 8.88 at 172.74 and on my daily driven RS which has gone 9.65 at 151 and also done awfully well at some autocross events with them.

It is going to be a very interesting race season this year and I am very happy to have you around.

I'm interested in something like this, I would like to be able to control the rebound, what kind of spring rates will be available?

Indy,I had taken Pete from DG motors for a ride in my car after the dyno runs and he was simply amazed how well the car handled the road especially under heavy boost. They took some nice pics of the suspension componets to.Thanks!

(2)Compression and rebound forces will change with an increase or decrease in nitrogen charge ie. the higher psi the compression forces move up as the rebound forces decrease, the lower psi increase the rebound forces and will lower the compression forces for a given valving.(3) A lighter lb spring ie. 6kg will react quicker than a 8kg spring. This is just another tuning tool for quick changes at the track to fine tuning a given combination without removing the springs.
I will disagree with point 2. Higher pressure in the gas chamber does not reduce rebound forces. Increasing the pressure in the gas chamber increases both compression and rebound forces, but rebound more so. I'm interested in hearing your explanation of this.

I do want to say that i'm glad there are actual intelligent people with interesting projects around so that we can have real discussion besides "What rims looks the best?" So definitely keep us posted on the project!

Noob4life take one of your PIC struts you sell, as you have a dyno there and run it save the run, add psi and rerun it. Do not rezero the gas psi. On a force/velocity average graph the first saved run the nose will start at zero. A force/diplacement graph will work also if that is what you use. The next run the compression forces will increase, what does the rebound forces do? it decreases. Same profile different force values. Works every time. See David I was nice and did not get pissed off. The Tony Stewart anger management class is working... wow... I feel happy now. Noob4life I just looked at your web site (nice) and saw you sell struts for the Evo that you can not add nitrogen to. Do you have anything around that you can try this with? Also what type of shock dyno is in the photo? Thank You for your time, Indy

fimotorsports: David Buschur, U2SLO, and I will be running the compression adjusters along with the launch conrtollers on three very different horsepower level cars to evaluate the adjuster along with a spring development program for the drag race guys. We have already removed 4 lbs from the lightweight Apexi N1 struts with Swift springs alone that weight savings is huge with something that has to be run, both in static and unsprung weight. U2SLO is running the version 1 spring package, David also has it, and I have version2. Testing on the adjuster will be starting this week. I'm looking forward to a great racing season for the Evo community, I hope many records fall reguardless who does it. It makes us all faster. Indy

Here are the springs we are working with. They are the same springs U2SLO aka Pete is running now. Swift springs 7"oal, 6kg, 8kg, 65mm id. This is our starting setup and will be reducing rate as needed for drag racing.
