Long trip pressure

Couldnt find a definitive answer so decided on a short post.

For longer road trips, what tire pressure is recommended with the focus being on helping highway mileage??

Many thanks

Increase the tire pressure if you want better mileage. Car won't handle as well and tires won't wear as evenly though depending on how much extra air you put in. I put 37 psi all around but you could use a higher pressure than that. Just make sure you don't inflate higher than the tire manufacturer's max recommended pressure. Air pressure goes up ~2 psi every 10 degrees F increase in temp.

The truth is you wont get much better mileage unless you fill the tires up so high that the contact patch is minimized which is dangerous. Just fill them to the 3psi less than max rated PSI and then check the tires once they get hot.

Right now I have mine setup @ 40psi front, 38psi rear. Both cold. These are Toyo T1R's. Max pressure they recommend is 44psi.
