i've got to say that i think the OE tires are fantastic. they have very good grip, and i love the sidewall stiffness, but for $290 per tire, you can better bang for your buck.
i recently got a set of BFGoodrich KD T/A in a 245/45. i like the tires, although now wish i had gone with the 245/40 due to the sidewall stiffness (or relative lack there of compared to the yokos).
i got a good closeout deal on tirerack though, that i just couldn't pass up.
other than that, i have had the chance to drive one of my friend's cars with the BStone re-01r's in 235/45, and i really like them. excellent grip, good turn in, and so far the wear seems reasonable on them.
one or two of the other local owners are also running the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's, and they seem to like those alot too. i haven't gotten a chance to drive them myself yet, but everyone else seems quite happy with them.

I have a friend who just got kumho mx's and has a lot of good things to say about them. Its all about personal opinion, and what kind of money you want to spend. It seems to me in tires like most things, you get what you pay for.

Hard to beat the oe Yoko's in grip and such. If you want to try something different, look at the B-Stone RE-01R, Dunlop Z1 Star, or Kumho MX. Those are all great extreme performance tires that will be very similar to what you currently have.
