best track pad for a newb

best track pad for a newb

hey i want to buy a pad i can swap out with my stock brembos for track days still on stock rotors.... i really want to go with ferodos any advice which? i have a set of lvl max 900's but not sure if i should just sell them and buy ferodos or use them . they seem to be as far as the info i have goes..... more of a tempermental pad as far as keeping them in their heat raange. thanks

Run Ferodo DS 2500's if you want a medium duty track pad. They can also be run on the street. The DS3000's are a total track pad that have higher operating temps than street driving would create. They are harder on rotors though.

I've found that DS2500's with good fluid and brake ducting hold up well to HPDE and lapping days.

I believe stock pads are actually Ferodo DS2000, they work pretty good on the track. If you are on the budget you can also try Hawk HPS

Neither are track pads. HPS are only rated to 600F and DS2500s to 1000F. Save the pain and risk of life - get a deticated track pad. Hawk HT10s, PF 97s, etc. I use the Hawk HT10s, but the Performance Friction 97s have my attention. Might try them next season.
