i have these in 255/40/17 and they seem to ride a little harsh IMO, good grip though.
anyone experience that?

KDW 2's 245/40/17 ive had these on my car for about 5,000 miles now and i love them, great traction dry and wet, great cornering, and they will last around 20,000 miles and i forgot what i paid for them but i think it was like $170 a tire

I drive with Bridgestone Potenza RE050 Pole Positions. Quieter, cheaper, longer lasting (even though my tread wear rating is 140), and seem to be within 10% of the performance offered by the OEM tires. Not to mention, the tires are an American brand.

All I can say is this, if you can get into an EVO to experience them first hand, you'll understand why my choice. OHHH best of all the Bridgestone’s don't to suffer from the same tire feathering that is a common attribute of the Advans. I'll never go back to Advan- unless someone else is behind the wheel.

Bridgestone is not an American company.

Bridgestone Corporation (株式会社ブリヂストン, Kabushiki-gaisha Burijisuton?) (TYO: 5108) is a Japanese rubber conglomerate founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi (石橋正二郎, Ishibashi Shōjirō?) in the city of Kurume, ***uoka, Japan. The name Bridgestone comes from a literal translation and transposition of ishibashi, meaning "stone bridge" in Japanese.

Nice to know there IS some intellect on this board!!!

I wonder why I thought that Bridgestone was an American brand???

I probably should not have consumed all the meth today. My teeth hurt!

What price range are you looking at? For under $100 each you can get the Sumitomo HTR-Z III which is one heck of a tire. Under $200 I'd look at the B-Stone RE0505A Pole Position or Dunlop Z1 Star (but those will be MIA for another 6 or so weeks). For $200 a tire I'd do the B-Stone RE-01R's. So it really depends on what budget you're in. There are a few others here/there but those are the top dogs.

There are better tires than the KDW's for the money. I have them on my car currently ,they are great in the dry but do suffer in the wet just a bit and they are noiseeeeeey. The other thing I don't like is after a hard weeknd of driving in the hill country I have a few chunks ripped out of them Almost like a cold tear on a slick
I would look at the Dunlop Star Spec's or the Hankook Ventus RS2's which I have had great success with. On stock wheels these tires are like 120 a piece you can't beat that at all!!
