I have a light squeal which I think is from the front end, but I only hear it with the windows down, and it is only when the wheel is turned to the left of center. As soon as the steering wheel passes left of center, it starts to squeal.

If it is to the right and I start turning it to the left, it will not squeal until it passes center.

Any ideas? Is this what bad wheel bearings do? I tried jacking it up and shoving the wheels left and right, but I did not feel any abnormal looseness.

 

I hate to bump an ancient thread, but I started experiencing these exact symptoms in the past few days. Were you able to figure it out?
