read the same article and it seams other than standing water it should not produce a massive problem

No one has mentioned this yet, but why not just have the tires re-mounted from side to side? LF to RF and LR to RR. This would keep the direction correct and give your the opposite tire shoulder to wear.

I was planning on doing this with my tires, but I'm so close to the wear bars that I'll just be replacing the tires instead.

I think that was Neal's original suggestion. The problem is, I can't do it at the track by myself, like I can with the wheel/tire combo. I can (and will) take them to a garage and have them all remounted/rebalanced, post-track days, when excessive wear justifies.

Dismounting was an option I mentioned earlier If using for track days and street driving, a dismount with rebalance would be the best for longevity and ride comforts.
