Stance coilover help

I'm looking at a set of used Stance GR+3Way coilovers and when I asked the guy he says that they are 9k springs for the front and back. Why would there be 9K's for the front and back and are these worth getting for JUST daily driving, (damn good deal) How would they ride?

3 ways for just daily driving is overkill. Very much overkill. So are 9k springs.

Not to sound overly pedantic or condescending but what is the obsession on this forum with buying expensive coilovers and then using them on the street? Not only are you asking for far more adjustability than the majority of people on this forum are capable of properly setting up for any purpose but you're killing your ride quality, your wallet, and adding an added degree of maintenance for a level of performance that you won't even begin to approach or use.

So buy a set of springs as there is no shortage of available sets at a fraction of the price. I'm not quite sure why someone needs external reservoirs or 32 levels of dampening, rebound, and compression tuning to achieve some vapid street image.

Over time, all shocks will need to be rebuilt or replaced. You have the option of getting a set of shocks that are better suited for the springs you have or, gasp, simply keep the suspension stock and save yourself time, money, and headaches over something as silly as 'a look.'

The evo comes with coilovers from the factory. Maybe not the best or most expensive or even adjustable but coilovers all the same.

coilover simply means that the coil (spring) is over the shock/strut.

Most aftermarket coilovers are technically "adjustable coilovers."

Semantics.

OP: 9k won't be too rough for daily driving. Most coilovers for the Evo are in the 8-12 kb/mm range.

Its not going to kill my wallet at all, they go for $2000 and I've got a chance to get them for $800, which is cheaper than the basic stance models. You sound smart so I better listen too. LOL

He's just trying to save you some money and hassle. Coilovers on a pure street car is just silly. Sure you can do it, but it's just not practial or smart. You would be smarter to buy them and sell them for more, then to put them on a non track used car. Specially on a daily driver.

Thats not totally true, coilovers nowadays are not made just for racing applications like in years prior. Today there are tons of companies that are making JUST street application coilovers, and they even specify it in their descriptions of the product. I understand that the GR+3ways are not a street only coilover but at a discount price it could prove to be worth it. I've had coilovers on other cars and lowering springs and I always liked the adjustability of the coilover over the lowering springs, I can honestly say I will never have lowering springs again, coilovers only. And if you do the math on getting a good set of springs AND shocks matched to handle the lowering you will end up in the same ball park as a decent street coilover.
