Just got alignment done. Quick questions

I told them I wanted -2 camber up front and -1 camber in the rear. And when i came to pick the car up it had -.8 camber in the front and -1 camber in the rear. I told them why they didnt put -2 in the front and they said it was impossible without a camber kit. I dont think this is true as smikeevo told me i could run -2 camber in another thread. So after putting up a quick fight with them they just gave me my keys and didnt make me pay. So my questions are is the camber im running ok? I eventually wanna get it redone for -2 camber in the front but for now everyday driving will it be fine til i find a reputable alignment shop. Also is it true that you need a camber kit to set it to -2 degrees camber?

Either way im getting some swift springs in a few months so the whole alignment will be redone so im just wondering should i change it now or should i just wait til i get the springs. the only good thing they did was give me zero toe. thanks in advance

Ignorance. Same here in OKC. Maybe a drive to Dallas is in order - to Don Herring Irving Mitsubishi. They did a perfect job for me. Awesome alignment rack & knowledgeable techs there.

Most good shops have the manuals on their computers. I would find a better shop. Print out the picture above and take it with you. And sit in the car/watch them like a hawk. Make sure its done right.

You are fine to drive it. Toe has a much greater impact on tire wear than camber.

^^^ that is what I did, I had print outs and watched them do it.

Is what safe? -.8 and -1? Yeah that is fine, that is probably what you were supposed to have from the factory.

When I flipped the bolts, I ended up with -1.8 or so in the front. You probably won't get exactly -2. Also, if you want it to really stick, I hear -3 is the way to go once you have camber plates.

And as far as wear, the bigger the camber the more the tire wear (in theory, though toe seems make the biggest difference in wear for me) so with -.8 in the front and 0 toe you are less likely to get funny wear than with -2.

yea i know camber causes wear but as long as its gradual wear. Before the toe was all over the place and it really ate up my tire. As long as tires last my over a year daily driven with a few autox in between ill be ok

What tires are you using? My Advans I checked alignment and rotated every 1000 miles and they were corded at 6 or 7000. I have RE050APPs now with 7 or 8000 miles with the same alignment and only rotated twice and they look brand new. They drive like @ss though. The tire itself makes a big difference in wear as well.

Are you on aftermarket coilovers? Depending on the dimensions and mounting positions of the upper and lower mounts, the range of adjustment may be different than stock.

On my 03 with stock suspension I couldn't get more than 1* of camber out of the stock bolts even with the arrow pointed out.

I had to get camber plates to run wider tires.

My 06 lined up at 1.9*.

Jack up the car and crank the wheel to see which way the arrow is pointing.
