If you're on a budget get the Mr Bilstein's. Just make sure to mate them with MR Specific springs. Bilstein also makes an aftermarket struts called "HD". A about as stiff as the stock struts on the GSR.
OHlins makes some, but they're REALLY pricey.

Get a set of used MR Bilsteins off someone, they are cheap right now, and work very well with springs from Swift, GT Worx, or Works. If you want a new set of shocks, the Bilstein HD gets very good reviews , alittle firmer than the MRs, and work well with the above spring sets, and only cost $700 for a set of four. Ohlin fixed perched will set you back 1700 w/o the springs, so I dont think thats what you were looking for. Any of these combos will perform on the street, and still has some track abilities. GL!

Get a set of used MR Bilsteins for a good deal but make sure they are in good condition. Meaning not used for 40k with green springs. If you do get a blown set for cheap, you can send them to Bilstein for a rebuild/revalve. Will probably be under 500 cheeseburgers with shipping back and forth when it's all said and done.
Bilstein HDs are a great option that's a little bit more brand new. Great ride and handling.

ANYWAY....lol...MitsuJDM summed it up pretty well. The Bilstein HDs are slightly firmer then Bilstein MRs but fairly similar overall. Still ride and perform better then stock dampers.

Happy hour in Pottsville! Guess you'd have to go through them pretty quick....

Too bad you don't live in SoCal, I have a set of stock IX struts that's been sitting in my storage for over a year - only had 300 miles on it before I replaced it with the MR bilsteins.

I think spring/strut combos are amazing for the street and moderate track duty. I feel like too many people rush into coil-overs. It kind of bugs me. Maybe I'm jealous because I can't afford them, hehe. Do I want some KW's? F*ckin hell yes! But I don't NEED them
Yeah, this thread has nothing to do with coil-overs, I know, haha.
