Will 17x7 42mm offset work on my IX?

I'm having a feeling they won't, but I thought I'd post up here. I'm looking for a winter set of wheels/tires and I found something. The tires are 225/50/17 so those will definitely work, but I'm not sure about the wheels. They were on an RX-8 it seems. It might be worth it to buy these and then sell the wheels separately.

Thanks,
Todd

No, that's a super weak offset and an inch skinnier than stock. They won't clear the calipers. Plus, even if they did, the offset would make your car look like it's on donuts.

I figured. Thanks though.

One more question while I'm at it. 215/50/17 winter tires on OEM 17x8's? I called a local shop and they didn't recommend it. I found a set of Blizzaks for a good deal on Craigslist, but I don't want to compromise safety to save a few bucks.

I wouldn't go any smaller than 225's. With 215's you'll look like a slammed vdub rolling on 10" wide BBS RS's with 185mm tires.
