Winter Wheels - again

I have 2 Sport Edition Fox 5 wheels left over from my Eclipse. Last weekend I tried them out for fit on the Evo, and they clear the caliper. The wheels are 17x7.5 and I'm not sure of the offset, but the caliper clearance is ~1-1.5mm. I figure with some 3mm spacers in front they should fit pretty good.

Tire Rack sell the wheels for $135 each. I'll be getting 2 more along with a set of winter tires. A package should be easily do-able for under a grand. Just thought I'd share my findings.

Those cars should have the same bolt pattern and centerbore, its the offset that you should look at. Sounds good if they clear the brakes, I would mount a tire to it as well to see if the current offset will still allow a tire to clear the car

Well I talked to Jake (at Tire Rack) today about the centerbore ring. He said the Evo and the Eclipse use the same part number. Mine wouldn't go on when I tried it, so I wanted to check and see if they were different or not. I'll have another go at it tonight. I have 225/45z17 v700's mounted on the wheels right now, so I'll check for clearance as well. Do you have access to the offset of that wheel? I couldn't find it on your site.

Which year, make, and model Eclipse did you have? EVO offset is 38mm from factory

It should be a 16X6" wheel with a 46mm offset. The EVO has a 38mm, so the GS wheel will sit in 8mm more than the stock wheel. It might even out though with the GS wheel only being 6" wide.

A stock Eclipse wheel has 46mm offset? What offset is the Sport Edition Fox 5 in the 17x7 size (or what did you guys sell me if there's more than one)? That's the wheel I want to put on my Evo. If the difference is actually 8mm, if I subtract the 3mm spacer I'll have a net of 5mm difference over stock. Is that right? Is 5mm even enough to worry about?

Yup, 46mm from the factory. The Fox 5 should be a 17X7.5" with a 35mm offset. 5mm might not cause a problem. Its a lot better than 8mm, but its all kinda iffy when you throw spacers in the mix. Best thing to do is bolt them up and make sure nothing rubs.
