Coilovers
I'm looking for a set of coilovers and im not really sure which ones are best for me. ive been searching and i still dont know. My cars mainly a DD but gets tracked every once in a while. What are some of you guys opinion on some coilovers that ride kind of like stock. I thought about just getting some springs but decided i would be better off with coilovers. All opinions are welcome. thanks
Bilstein PSS9, or KW Coilovers Variant 3..
Some people don't like the idea that the rear spring rates on the KW is lower than the front (9KG front, 6KG rear). I believe Robispec KW Variant 3 Streets have 7 KG up front, and 8 on the rear.
You can get the standard KW V3's for around 1830$ from support vendors here.

AMS recommended me the Endura Tech Coils. I will track more than once in a while so you might want the 7k/5k stock springs, I was recommended 7k/7k for what its worth. I will hopefully pick these up early next year, but no need for coils in the winter!
BTW the search has been greatly refined, make use of it or people on here will crucify you.

If you have any serious track aspirations, you will want coils at some point. I currently have swift springs and they are great, street and track alike. But there is noticeable room for improvement. If you are tracking for fun every once in a while, you will be much happier with something like the swifts for 300 bucks than a set of coils, min 1500 for a decent set.

would i need to get aftermarket shocks with the springs? eventually i plan on tracking the car a lot but as of right now its just going to be every once and a while. I know this is a totally different car but when i had my eclipse before the evo i had some springs on it and was unhappy with it. I just wouldnt wanna make the wrong decision with the car and thats why im leaning more towards coilovers.
I would say Bilstein HDs with a good set of springs (like GTWorx or Swift), front and rear swaybars and use the rest of the money on brakes and seat time.
Springs get a bad rap sometimes because there are a lot of ****ty ones out there....but there are some properly engineered ones that improve performance.
If you did get coilovers, I would consider KW V3 with custom rates or AST 4100. We can help you with those options, but it'd be smart to check out Robi's KW options. But you're paying a sizable amount more for good coilovers instead of the strut + spring set-up.
Remember when you're buying....you can't put a price on support! There are some vendors on here that are suspension guys and there are many more who may offer it for a couple of bucks cheaper but just don't get "it." If you're not 100% suspension literate then it pays to get help from someone who is.

Swift Springs are great springs, but if you are into tracking, I would suggest a coilover personally.
There are a lot of great coilover systems out there in every price point. For a daily driver that sees occasional track use, or even for a car that sees a good amount of track use, I recommend the BC Racing coilovers. They have a lot of great features and are cheaper than the KW V3. They have adjusable ride height separate from spring preload which is awesome, all of the mounting tabs for your stock brake lines, camber plates, 30 clicks of dampening adjustment that actually work, etc. Custom spring rates and valving are also available. I use custom sprung and valved BCs on my shop Evo and love them. I have much stiffer springs than the off the shelf BCs, but they still provide a good ride quality on the street at full soft.

Whenever I feel like buying something unknonw for half the price, I always remind myself of 1 quote. "I'm not rich enough to buy cheap, do it right the first time".
Think about it.

yeah. i made the whole not doing it right decision alot when i had my old car. Thats why im trying to get peoples opinions and different ideas because i really dont know crap about suspension. On my eclipse i had tein s tech springs and kyb agx adjustable shocks and it wasnt the best ride and made alot of noise, and i dont wanna do something im going to be unhappy with on the evo.
