question of performance and durability of blizzack

i'm making a few ski trips this year and i was wondering if the blizzack could also be used as a dry tire or if all seasons would be the way to go

i have the lm22's. they are not what i would call an ideal tire for dry surfaces as they have very poor grip compared to my summer tires (obviously), but in the snow they are fantastic.

i always recommend getting a dedicated winter and dedicated summer tire.

WS-50 are fine. Of course, dont expect dry grip as if driving on the stock advans, but you'll be fine.

I am using the LM25's, and they are fine in the dry as long as you don't drive like you're still on summer tires, or even a decent all-season for that matter. I noticed a lot of squirm under hard braking too. Both reasons why I keep it under 75mph although I haven't had problems at 80-85mph.

I'd happily give up the "performance" of an all-season tire for the peace of mind I have get with the LM25's, even if we never see a flake of snow. This is my 3rd winter on my current set and they have plenty of tread left although I run them at ~40psi all around.

Blizzaks have no "UTQG" Uniform Tire Quality Grade but they will burn up pretty fast on dry pavement.

It's ok to run them on clear days in the winter. A lot of the time the roads are plowed/clear and we have no choice but to drive them. 90% of my commute here is non snow covered highway and mine wear just fine. It's running them in dry warmer weather going into spring/summer than it becomes a problem. In summer like conditions they will wear super fast and handle very soft. Clear road winter months is fine.
