I currently have a set of Volk racing CE28N & wanna know if I can run 255/40/17 tyres on them.

Profile of rim is 17 x 8.5JJ, 114.3 & offset +25

Appreciate any advices...

Thanx

255/40/17 have been proven to work on 17x8 OE wheels. The speedo will be slower by about 1mph.

As far as that rim - are you sure it will clear the brakes?

And I have never heard of a 255/45/17 size, at least not in the tires I run.

Great calculator:

I am running that set of Limited VR rims & AP racing front 6 & rear 4 BBk on my ride now & have no issues with the clearance.

However, my local tyre shop advised me against 255/40/17 on 8.5JJ rims, which puzzles me as second opinion from u guys seems to be ok with it.

Pls see attached pic:-

Same profile rims should not be a problem but I don't think you can get the chrome finishing because its a limited production by VR & is not available for ordering.
