Ordered my Conti's Thursday. Received them today - very fast shipping and only $30 via FedEx. Very, very painless and fast.

I'm putting them on later in the week.

Thanks Neal!

You guessed it

I put the Conti Extreme Contacts on last night. For kicks,
I laid into it on a left hand turn and the back end broke loose
without much effort. After I rode on them for a bit and let them
warm up the traction for pretty good. The tires are pretty "squishy"
as I read above, but driving in Colorado with ADVANS is not an
option in the winter, so you do the math. HAHA

Thanks Tire Rack! They arrived in 2 days with no problems.

Dan

I know I was able to break them loose in 2nd around turns on wet pavement - and also kick the car sideways on web onramps.

Put a few more miles on the Contis today. Theres still snow outside, but not much. Mostly slush and melted snow on the ground. In these conditions, you can feel the loss in handling going from the Yokos to the Contis. There is more body roll!?, less grip, and slower turn in. I haven't gotten too aggressive yet, but this was all obvious just from driving around town. I will definitely be taking these off as soon as the snow season is over and temps get over 50.

For those of you in the Boulder, CO area there is only one place to have wheels/tires or alignments done. I have been going to the "Tire Source" for years now and never had a wheel damaged. The owner "Pete" is almost always there and if the wheel/car is special, he manages to tend to the mounting personally. I have taken all of my cars to him over the years which have included multiple Porsches and several race cars. He has the best reputation in the area and handles all the local racers (track). He also looks after most of the PCA cars.

The Tire Source is easy find as it is right across from Boulder Mitsubishi on 30th.

Just my 2 cents.

BTW, I am not affiliated with the Tire Source. I just know how valuable a good alignment and tire shop is.

On average, you should see 35-40K Given proper rotations, alignments, etc etc

These tires are fantastic. First big snow yesterday (8 inches) and they just grab in unplowed snow. The only danger is from other drivers who see your evo going ok in the snow and try to pass you assuming that if you can do it, they can too... big mistake for most of the SUV's out there.

I agree - these are great. I was passing almost everyone, and still feeling very safe and under control in 2-3 inches on the highway last month.
