Evo crashed, need new tires

Hi, I crashed my EVO some days ago and the tires got damaged and I have to change them, Im thinking getting the Michelin pilot PS 2, how good are they compared to the Advans?? I loved the stock tires, but think those pilots could be better.
(I dont need winter tires)

Any comments??

BTW, its really expensive to repair an EVO!!!

Try searching in the tire section.

I did search but I didn't find a comparison between PS2's and stock tires (found some interesting topics though)
Thanks for the answers

Z1 Star Specs compare much better than those you listed.

And yes, it is expensive to fix an Evo.

(Moved the tread here too)

I just crashed mine a couple weeks ago myself... the insurance company totaled the car but it doesn't really seem like all that much damage... I bought the car back but can't decide whether or not to try to get it fixed, part it out, sell it as is or what... any thread recommendations on advice for this or rear suspension bars being bent haha

PS2's have a much softer sidewall than the oe Advans. Personally I didn't like the Advans as a street tire. All out grip is awesome but they track all over the road, their noisy, and they ride like crap. I switched to PS2's and love them. Great dry grip, nice ride, quite, awesome wet traction and they wear very well.

I would highly recommend them for a street drive car. Good luck with your decision.

i've run ps2 for about 3 years.

they are expensive but for everyday use, with the occasional mountain run they are great. smooth running, reasonably quite and good in the rain.

I rand the dunlops for about 6 months now
the dunlop direzza z1 star spec have much better dry grip, in the rain they're ok, cold and rain you had better drive carefully. also per tire size the dunlops are like 3 pounds heavier then the ps2. But they are bout 1/2 the price so it is an excellent value.

If you have the money and want a good all around tire the ps2 are great. but you could spend your money on the dunlops and have extra money around for extra set uf rims or whatever else.

Well, I think tire choice is a subjective matter, and in my opinion I did not like the
PS2 for the Evo.
For the first impression, I enjoyed the softer ride, but once I started to drive it spiritedly, I was forced to be less agressive with my driving compared to the Advans.
The braking performance went down, and the handling/ cornering with the PS2
was considerably slower, and less communicative.
Now, I switched to the Bridgestone RE01-R, which is great compromise between
performance and comfort in my opinion. It feels somewhere between PS2 and the Advans. PS2 are more for luxury-performance sedans like Benz etc.
You can look at Tirerack.com for comparisons.
My next tires will probably be Dunlop Direzza Star spec. It is less expensive compared to the Bridgestones, and they were sold out when I needed a set.
I have a good pair of PS2 in my basement, but it is too bad you live in Mexico.
Good luck with your choice!
