I don't think they are any more overkill than the oe Yokos.

I don't think they are overkill, but I'm not sure I like them as much as the A046's. For the price, they are awesome, but I feel a slight loss in turn-in crispness and road feedback through the wheel. Steering doesn't seem to build up as much weight during cornering as well. On the other hand, they seem quieter and seem to ride better, but maybe that is just perception compared to well worn A046's. Overall grip is great, but the loss of that instantaneous cornering just off-center has detracted a little bit from the cars fun-to-drive factor - at least for me.

Tire rack had a good price, but a local installer in PHX was able to get me out the door for less if I purchased through him...so I did. Otherwise, I would have bought through tire rack and taken them to a store for mounting.

They are pretty cheap, but thier website is showing that they r out of a stock of 255/35 18. Thier price was 234, but is still cheaper with free shipping. Plus I just get a called from tirerack and now my order is on back order until 2/27.
I guess these r selling like hot cakes.

But, they look like they're wearing pretty slowly... and I DD on them, so that's important. But not that important.

it really all depends how the person drives, i pulled out 20k miles on my stock advans before they started to fall apart on me, but then again i dont know if i can compare the z1's to the a046 seeing as how my z1's are mounted on my summer wheels so they arent driven on year round like my advans were

I also need to decide which tire dimension offers the best performance for HPD track days on my OEM 17x8 BBS rims, 235/45/17 or 245/45/17. Any one with track experience on the 245/45/17???

Honestly, lots of people run a 255/40 on a 17x8 with much success

I do.

These tires do run wide. My 245/45 Z1s where as wide as my 255/40 615s...I really wish I took a picture when I swapped them last year.
