rt-615 camber question

how much camber are you guys running on your falken azenis rt-615's? i did a lot of searching, but couldnt really find anyone with camber numbers. i'm looking to maximize handeling, and tire wear isnt a real issue, as the car is driven about 10 times a year. i wouuld really like your opinion, and maybe some of the suspension tuners can chime in.

my setup is as follows:

255/40/17 all the way around on 615's (17x9 wheel)
cam centric upper and lower hub bolts
jic magic flt-tarh (10k/14k)
megan rear toe rods
stock sways with endlinks

i appreciate the help guys, my first track day is 3.21 and i want to have everything ready. also, if anyone knows of a place that does alignments and corner weighting somewhere between kc and okc i'd greatly appreciate it. seems like **** to spend all this money on nice parts and just shotgun the alignment.

thanks,

Steve

Depends what you're doing with them.

If you're driving on the street, stay within the factory spec's... like -1 or so.

If you're racing, you should know what to run.

I run about -2.2 degrees on mine, but it's strictly a track car.

The real way to do it is get your car corner weighted, suspension setup the way you want it, and then run the car. Monitor the tire temps via a tool that checks the surface temperature of the tire, and measure it in 3 spots, Inside Edge, Middle of the tire, and Outside edge.

The goal is to get the same temps across the entire tire.

If the inside is hotter, decrease camber.
If the outside is hotter, increase camber.
If the middle is hotter, reduce tire pressure.
If the middle is cooler than either side, increase pressure.

yea, its primarily a track car, i have fun and take it out on takes and stuff sometimes. i have my infared thermometer in the glovebox lol, what a great tool. i wish i could afford a true tire temp monitoring system. with the camcentric bolts and the camber plates i can run about as much camber as i would ever need. i'll probably start around -2.5' and taper out accordingly with what the temps tell me. what kind of tire pressures are you running with yours?

i dont know why i'm putting so much emphasis on these tires as i plan on switching to something more aggressive late in the season. i think i went too stiff on the springs also, i'll probably overheat the tires.

thanks for the input, any more opinions is apprechiated.

I run buddy club 10k's on my Azenis as well... and yeah, after a bunch of hard laps, they definitely get hot.

I run about 35-42psi cold. Depending on ambient temperature.

Just watch the temps across the tire, the infrared reader is good for that. Don't adjust camber at the track unless you have a way to check toe as well.
