will a set of evo 8 springs work on evo 9 struts?

will a set of evo 8 springs work on evo 9 struts?
My buddy has a set of aftermarket springs on his evo 8 that hes willing to give me. Wondering if it would work on my evo 9?

THey will work as long as they are not MR springs. Regular evo's (GSR) springs are compatible. Don't put any crappy Tein springs on though.

Actually, MR-GSR-RS all are the same spring 03-06. The struts were different, but springs the same.
