Wheel Stud Installer ...

Can someone be explain to me how this tool works .... I don't mean how to use it, but rather how does it help pull the stud through??

I guess it saves you from having to stack washers. I'd suggest throwing it across the street so the neighbor can hit it with his lawnmower.
