Quick wheel question
Quick wheel question
Hey guys...just had a quick question. May purchase an Evo soon and I have an extra set of rims I could possibly use as Winter wheels...
17x7's...114.3 x 5 bolt pattern, +40mm offset. I realize these are thinner than the stock rims...And I'm not sure I could fit 235's on them. Just curious though if the bolt pattern is the same or the stock offset.
Not sure if this matches up with the stock wheels or not...Thanks for any help.

Are you going to get all-season or winter tires?
17x7 is fine, as long as the spokes clear the brake calipers. You shouldn't put 235/45 tires on a 7" wide rim. For winter use, you might want to use a narrower tire anyway. You'll trade off dry traction and handling for better grip in the snow. I suggest going with 215/50 tires, with 225/50 and 225/45 as less-desirable alternatives. Make sure the load rating is no less than the stock tire. If you want minimal speedometer error, the new tire diameter should match the stock diameter as close as possible.
