There are plenty of good shops in MI. If you want a performance shop to look at it, you can take it to Speed Industry in Troy. If you just want a reliable mechanic, you can ask around on the miEVO boards. In Ann Arbor, Swedish Engineering is a honest/reliable place to go.

Pay to play. If you cannot afford to fix it - don't race it.

Any updates on what the cure for this noise was? This sounds identical to my problem.

Installed Tein S-Tech lowering springs lastnight, now when I turn the wheel hard left or right (mostly left) I get a clunk. I jacked up the left side of the car, turned the wheel, no sound. Let it back down and the sound came back. It drives perfectly straight with no weird vibrations or anything, just the clunk when I go to turn hard left or right.

I did notice; however, that this morning when I got in it the clunk was much quieter than it was right after the install but it is still there.. any suggestions!?

^^^ what this guy said, and while your at it, also double check the nuts on the upper strut mounts to frame, make sure there torqued properly, as well as the bolt and cam bolt from lower part of strut to spindle...make sure those are all torqued to spec. Only other thing is make sure the springs are sitting properly and not moving around.

ok to answer first part of your question look underneath the upper strut mount in the fenderwell, where the top of the spring is look for a hole cut into it underneath. theres a corresponding hole on the base of the strut, make sure those holes sit in the same spot so you could for example put a rod or somethin long n straight through the top hole and it would go through bottom hole for example. Lined up. as for checking the bolts just make sure there torqued to spec, i dont recall the numbers off hand but search on here and youll find it, Now if the holes dont line up, you need to loosen the nut in the middle of the strut to upper mount thats in the middle of the 3 nuts n bolts, back it off a couple threads only, turn the upper mount to line up with it, and retighten it down. then go road test. good luck
