Bilstein Worth ReValving for DD?

So basically i have a used set of Bilsteins I'm about to throw on with a sweet set of swift sport MR springs.

I'm considering sending them set in to get them revalved to match the HD specs but wondering if its worth it for a mostly DD car. While they are off, and i'm not rushing to put them on, if I were going to re valve em now would be the best time.

car specs- 03,mostly DD for now, Bilsteins will be put on with Swift Sport Mr springs suspension will be built up before power is added but mostly this will be my 4 season car and will see snow. so in the future sway bars and other goodies will be added.

Yes it is. They only charge $75 per shock, considering what OEM charges per shock for replacement. And you can get them to your own specs (HD anyone?). There's no other shock out there thats as good, and entry level coilovers are not worth the price.

I have one HD that I custom valved to the Spec R rates. Long story short, UPS lost and Fedex found, the other strut I shipped. It has not be rebuilt.

I would get them revalved to the Spec R final rate. For $75 a corner - its a great deal and will perform great.

i ended up going with the Swift Sports, Sry i didn't mention that.

Mostly my Daily Driver,so i won't be hitting the track just yet with it.

Will it make that much of a difference from the stock MR rates for the sports?

Front rates are exactly the same. Rears have a 50 lb/in lower starting point.

Swift Sports: 179-269, 207-319 (157-314 for MR). -1.4, -0.8 drop.

Either will work on the MR/HD/KYB struts.

So should I go with the Revalve? Will it make that much of a difference from the normal Bilsteins?

If so then I'll probably send them out so thats my dilemma. ;-(

Yep. They can rebuild the MRs also.

Andy @ Showcase in Bay City has a set he is looking to sell.

Considering the retail for a set of HD, and the wait on them, your better bet is to rebuild the stock Bilsteins.

Have searched and will continue. Will post if i find it.

I have the MR Bilstiens on my SE.

I don't think I would revalve them unless you are sure they are tired and need revalving. All matching them to HD specs will do is make the car ride a bit less compliant.

There's next to no difference between my stock KYBs and the (lowered on RobiSpec) Bilstiens.

They feel great on the street and on the track.

argh, for the rears I might just end up buying the HD.

For the fronts it might be a better option to have them re valved. Mainly because of the wait time.

My choice is mainly between used Bilsteins re-valved and maybe a sway bar or 2 or some new hd's.

swift springs are already purchased begging to be thrown on.
