Squeaky brakes...

I just did my breaks today, and they squeak. What causes that? I put anti-squeal stuff on the shims. Should I have put it on the pins where they contact the pads and the tensioner as well? Info please!! I hate squeaky brakes!

Try re-bedding them in. 6-10 moderate stops at 35mph and 2-3 hard stops at 45mph. Preferably with about a minute of rest (i.e. driving w/o having to brake so the brakes cool down) between each stop. Don't drag the brakes when you do brake and try not to let the car come to complete stop when you're doing the bedding runs.
