Unhappy Tires and rims

Here is my question. I just bought some used Titanium Gunmetal Volk RE 30 rims 18x9 +35 with Azenis RT 615 in a 255-40-18. It looks awesome, Really fills up the wheel wells. Very agressive. The problem is the tires are rubbing the inside of the wells and under hard cornering it is pretty loud. The other thing is also that the rear fenders rub on top under cornering and over bumps

Iwas under the impression from all my research that this was a coservative setup and was no problem. Is it just the 40 sidewall being too tall? It wil save about a half inch going to a 35.

I am lowered 1 inch all around.

Thanks for the help.

I had no rubbing with my Advan RGII's 18x9 with +35 offset on a 255/40-18. Currently I am running the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus so those Falken's would not be any taller, I'm at 26.1" tall and I think you are only at 25.9". I am rocking Tein Flex Coilovers droped over 2"

Roll those rear fenders and stay with the 40 series over the 35!
