LOUD brake noise
LOUD brake noise
About 3 weeks ago, when coming to a stop I noticed my brakes were starting to make noise. By the next day, they were so loud it was embarrassing to even put my foot on the pedal. If I brake heavy (not triggering ABS), there isn't any noise. If I lightly, and I mean lightly, brake there is no noise. But if I apply any moderate pressure or normal braking they scream like a chick in some jason movie.
I took a look at the pads to see if there was any contact with the wear indicators and the pads still looked new, rotor looked good, everything well greased, no signs of wear, no rust, etc. I left them as is hoping it would go away but it didn't, so I changed them with new pads anyways (cheap duralast gold since I'm selling the car). Same issue. Went out and tried to bed-in the brakes for a few hours hoping it would eventually go away, no change. Tried to brake in reverse, no luck.
I've searched and reviewed all the similar threads on this, the only thing I haven't tried yet was sanding down the rotor and pads. Is this known to work or should I just replace the rotors?
