ABS kicking in at odd time frame

Noticed earlier today when I was pulling into the drive way, which is fairly steep, it felt like the car went tri-pod, happens on occasion, because I had to pull in at an angle to make clearance and my ABS started kicking in like a donkey so I was like WTF! I've had the car in tri-pod many times pulling into the drive way and this is the first time the ABS did this....

Anyone notice this on their car under somewhat similar circumstances?

Wheel speed sensor did not get RPM signal of the wheel in the air while on the brakes. ABS functioned as it is supposed to.
