To get bump travel, you subtract droop travel from the total travel (since bump + droop = total).

It's not perfectly accurate since the motion ratio isn't exactly 1, but it's very much close enough.

Any pics of the post install? How is the ride height? Everything looks good, but it would be interesting to see how it sits...

Did you get the struts that are $110 each or $243 each?

car looks good. I think I'll email Bilstein about re-valving my stockers. I have always loved the way my car rides compared to KYB equipped Evos.

My '00 A4 has Bilstein Sport Struts on it, and I'm thinking about having those re-valved as well.

yeah i was looking at their website before I posted. $75 per strut and $65 per shock.

As far as ride comfort is it about the same as the MRs?

Unfortunately I've never had the chance to ride in or drive an MR, so I don't know. All I can say that from just driving it on the street, the HD/Swift combo is easily the most livable performance suspension setup I've driven on any car.

6.125 inches of total travel on the KYBs that came off the car. As measured from the top of the piston (where the nut attaches), it's 8.625" in length when fully extended and 2.5" when fully compressed. The piston length is just about identical on the Bilstein struts, so I doubt that they'll have any more travel than that. Probably slightly less, since the KYB's have about 50K on the clock.

It clears the curb to my driveway w/out any problems, and that's with a CF lip that's a little bit lower than stock. Some actual measurements, taken in my garage:

Ground clearance @ front of sideskirt = 6.125"
Ground clearance @ rear of sideskirt = 7.125"

I also measured the front crossbar mounting points (the actual crossbars are lower), which were:

Ground clearance @ front crossbar mount, driver's side = 5.25"
Ground clearance @ rear crossbar mount, driver's side = 5.3125" (5/16)

Figure the accuracy to be about +/- 1/16th of an inch; a.k.a. me lying on my back in my garage with a tape measure.

After searching the threads, I still haven't found an answer to the difference between Bilstein HD and Bilstein MR. I know valving is stiffer on HD, but maybe piston size is bigger slightly also?
