Really?

Wheels weigh 22 lbs (8 OEM)
Say 17-18in across (17in rims+box and packing)
Say 7-10in deep (8in width+box and packing)

Use the calculators to get a ballpark.

Weight of a tire/wheel combo should be between 45-50 lbs, unless they're chrome dubs (heavier), or magnesium (lighter). Box size should be figured at ~ 26x26x12. Really all the shipper needs to do is to slap some round cardboard covers over both sides of the wheel, strap them on and ship.

Its been a while but I think the cost was around $100 through UPS for a set with tires with no air of course.

We use UPS to ship everything where I work. For what you are doing it should run about 25-30 each, depending on if going to business or residence. Make sure he puts some cardboard layers on the top side of that box to protect the rims. Get insurance too.
