Good to run 235/40/18?

I currently have 18x8 rims and im getting some new tires soon. Im eye balling the Hankook R-S2, but they come in 235/40/18. Also, possibly next month I will be picking up some wider rims, 18x9.5. I know some people here runs that kinda of size and setup. I just want some feedback.

Thanks

If you're picking up wider rims would you want tires that would go on those wheels as well as your current 18x8's?

You should get 255/35/18. It will work on the 9.5's and fit on your current 18x8's.

FYI You might rub unless your 18x9.5's are more than a 30 or so offset.

Agree with above. 235's will fit but more common size to use is 255/35-18.

Thanks guys for the input! I was looking at the short sidewalls cause my car is pretty low and its pretty flush. I dont track or do alot of spirit driving, just daily drive to work and home. I will continue to look around and check out other EVOs in the area with wide wheels set and see what I can go from there, lol.

Okay, still look around for tires, lol.

Now im debating to get new tires for my 18" or get 17" with new tires. In the end I just want my car to stand low.

I narrow it down to, if I get new tires for my 18" it will be more likely to be 255/35/18.
If I get 17 rims, tires will be 245/30/17.

Brand wise, im looking at Potenza RE760 and Yoko S. Drive now base on tire wear. Any opinions on these two?

I've got 245 40 18 on a 18 by 8 rim with no rubing. Handles a lot better now compared to my worn out stocker's.

Can't go wrong either way. The B-Stone is a touch better than the Yoko. Asymmetrical and can be rotated any position, little quieter, etc. Owners of both have been very happy.
