Camber curve and perfect ride heights are important, but it's important to have a foundation of a good damper and spring rate first to work with.

^^ Certainly ... and I think we may be saying the same thing. Based on perceptions and background experiences we're probably applying different preferential weights to our various arguments.

I'll also say that suspension opinions and facts border on religious fervor especially in the EVO community.

If I could recap the whole thread discussion is GTWORKX I think has already said to run the softer spring up front, and heavier in the rear.

The second argument I bring to the table is getting the ride height setup in order to properly get the EVO into the proper part of the camber curve.

From there I hope any adjustments to damping / successes / failures could be reported back from the OP.

BTW I just measured my settings and found the fronts to be at 13.375 in. and the rears to be just a hair above 13.5 in. I was on an uneven surface so I took the average of each side.

I hope that information helps.

^ my engine is out right now and I'm swapping roll cages at the moment so once its back together I will post up my ride heights. I will also look into the springs and shocks a little more. Possibly give the guy I bought them from a call.

I guess the thing thats throwing me for a loop is the different aftermarket parts I have that alot of other evo's dont. I have the Perring PSRS kit and it actually changes the "angle of attack" of the control arm. It levels it out more on the lowered car to help fix bump steer I guess? Its fully adjustable though, so is the caster. I wonder how this will affect my setup vs. yours

^^ That's a very useful piece of information.
Having that Perring PSRS kit on will certainly change things relative to my arguments ... and sadly I'm out of my league on commenting what to do relative to how that part changes the camber curve / suspension setup of the EVO.
I'll stay on board this thread and keep monitoring any more responses. I'm curious also.

Okay well I will be sure to get my ride height set appropriately if it already isnt and give feedback. I'm calling Tanabe to get a new wiring diagram for their controller, so I will see what it does with some adjustment

Has anyone mentioned corner balancing? This helps greatly with mid speed corners. Height may be the same all around to provide feel but the car will not be balanced on all 4 corners.

corner balancing balances from front right to left rear and front left to right rear. Basically uses coilover height to adjust the balance between the corners so when you turn left and turn right the car would feel the same and be predictable.

okay great, I know the shop I tune with can get that done. I will look into it. The cage and chassis work really started today, should be done in 3 weeks, same with the engine
