Thumbs up Wow, cheap tire installer?

After purchasing new tires (thanks Neal), I've been calling around to check prices for tire mounting and balancing. For the heck of it, I called my local Mitsu dealership and asked for pricing.

$48+ tax for mounting and balancing on all 4 tires . Everyone else is at least $20/per tire, with a few places charging $35/per WTF???

If you can tolerate your Mitsu dealer, then you should check them out. Besides, waiting in a car dealership is a little more entertaining than sitting in Cheapo Tire Co's single waiting room chair with 3 day old coffee.

Very interesting. Thanks for giving me an idea. I was calling around last weekend and just like you the price range was $20-$35!!! Thats $140 to mount & balance tires!

I will call a few Mitsu dealers around my area to see what they offer.

Sounds like a good deal. The only thing that would bother me is wondering how much time they spent balancing those tires and what kind of machine they used. Was it a Hunter?

My dealer was $65 to mount & balance all four which I thought was really high compared to the tires places.

What does Tire Rack charge?

My Mitsu dealer charged $60 to mount and balance all 4 snow tires on my factory rims. I don't understand how you think $65 is high - if you do it right, it does take some time.

if you have a costco in your area and are a memeber most of them have a tire division and charge about $10 (then like $1.75 disposal fee) to mount and balance a new tire

I checked one of our local tire places...$40 mounted and balanced for all four and they aren't exactly known for their low prices.
