Another wheel tested and fit
Like many of you, I've been on a quest for a winter tire and wheel package. Again, like many of you, I wanted to go as cheaply as possible for the wheels. As I don't think anyone else has mentioned them in any of the threads, I thought I'd throw out my solution: Konig Blatants, in 17x8 with a 40 offset (in Opal finish) . I was able to pick these up from discounttiredirect.com, for $143 each. With Yokohama AVS Winters 235/45-17 at $180 each, and the mounting kit (Gorilla Nuts, anti-theft nuts, and hub-centric rings) I got them mounted, balanced and delivered for $1349. I fitted the wheels yesterday, and they have no problem with the front calipers, as the wheel design has a large arched area behind each spoke. In fact, I believe they have more clearance on the calipers than the stock wheels
Unfortunately, I just checked the discounttiredirect site, and it looks like I got their last set, as they are no longer listed. But for those of you still in the hunt, I'm sure they can be found from other vendors.
I'm not familiar with how to post pictures yet, but here's a link to the konig page for the wheel:

They wouldn't have been my first choice based on looks alone, but for about $50 less per wheel than any other option I could find, I'm pretty happy with them. If I get the image thing figured out, I'll post some pics this weekend.
Bring on the snow!
