Tein Coilovers

I have Tein fully adjustables (greens) on my evo 8. and to make long story short. The front drivers side makes a "clunking" sound and they seem to be ridicuously stiff almost unbarable. Now i know they are 'adjustable'. But i don't have the tool to adjust them since i bought the car from the stealership. now idk what you guys recommend as far as coilovers but i had some on 240's in the past but they were never this unbearable on just daily driving. Every bump feels like my coils are gonna rocket through my hood. So anyone got any advise on the P.O.S coilovers i got. As far as how to adjust without the special tool or should i just revert to blistens with springs?

thanks.

define fully adjustable. Which coilovers do you have? Tein are all green.

Tein can be a great coilover, its just their lower end stuff is garbage. I run Tein HTs currently and I like them very much. Even with the stiff spring rates I have, the car is smooth.

Stiffness is the spring rates, the com/reb adjustments can only do so much for that.

Take a look a the shock and see if you could find a model number or something to help identify what model Teins you have. That'll be a good starting point. Then try to identify the spring rate you're on...that's what Smike is getting at. The wrenches for the perches can be purchased for any Teins dealer. You might want to check the topnut on the tophats, and all the mounting nuts to make sure nothing it loose also. I had a clunking in my left fron once, and found out the two nuts bolting the shock to the knuckle were loose. GL!
