Clunk in Rack and Pinion Assembly

My Evo just turned over 39k miles.

But ever since I got the car at 31k miles I have had a slight clunk in the steering.

When you jiggle the steering wheel quickly from side to side, you can feel a tiny bit of play and a clunk.

The TRE's are in good shape.

I had a friend rock the steering wheel, and I pinpointed the noise to be coming from the rack and pinion.

Is there any sort of adjustment that can be made?

I didn't have time to check the intermediate shaft, is there any known problems with it?

Thanks!

By TRE's, you mean tie-rod ends? The outters? I had a clunk in my steering and it WAS the outter tie rods ends. Maybe check the inner tie rod ends.
