Another tire thread......

So my current tires, BFG g-force sport 255/40/17, are about toast because of an alignment issue I over looked. These were my 3rd set of those tires and I want to move on to something new and more suited for the hot/dry year long weather over here. I want some summer only tires that will offer decent tread wear and good performance. So far the only thing I've liked are the Potenza re-760's.....what do you guys think of that tire? My car is mostly a DD with some weekend canyon runs and going to the track once or twice a year. The local tire shop knows dick about performance tires, I need some advice from all you tire guru's

760 would be a great tire. Semi quiet, great dry, good response, can rotate them, etc. Top of its class for good reason. Haven't seen anyone unhappy with those yet.

Decent tread wear may kill the Z1 choice unless he's happy with 15K.

Yeah tread wear counts for me, some months I'll put over 5k miles when I go on road trips and I don't go easy on the tires on those trips. Well so far the 760's sound good......should I be looking into any other tires that will meet my needs?

Neal can you get me some prices on the 760's in 255/40/17 and 255/35/18? This will help me decide if I want to jump to 18's or stick with 17's when I buy my new wheels next week.
