Any pads offer DS2500 perf. without dusting?

anybody go from a ds2500 pad to low dusting pad & felt they didnt give up any performance, especially from high speed (~90-100mph)?

I have read a lot of conflicting reviews, but never a thread asking for people who changed from ds2500's to find something better.

I recently swapped out my ferodo ds2500 pads & oem rotors for dba 5000 (front) / centric rears & ebc red pads......

lets say i like the "no-dusting" of the ebc red pads, but the reds missed the performance mark IMO.

after i do a 3rd gear pull & start slowing down, initialy they slow, then start to get loud..... I put my used ds2500 back up front & this issue went away.

even when going down long hills, driving grandma style, the red pads gave me grief....

the reds perform nicely in the hills / twisty bits with short braking bursts / applications, as i take the twisties home after work everyday & they work great there.....just not all-around for me...

I really like the performance of the ferodo ds2500's, except for the dust.

thanks for your input

Axxis ULTs and GranSport GS5s are both very close to DS2500s. And there is the EBC Yellows too. Its a more agressive track ready pad over the Reds. Bite goes into a higher temp range.

these are rated similiar to the ferodo 2500's on their website so maybe you can give these a try

Agreed. The CL RC5+ is quite similar in performance to the DS2500 but with lower dust. It will have a little more heat capacity, and should last a little longer as well.

While I can't speak for the DS2500 dust, the EBC Yellow does cause a bit of dust.

My white track rims are pretty clean still and my DD rims are dark grey. Ill check them tonight after work, been a few weeks since I washed that car

My black wheels really showed them bad after a week of daily driving. After an autox or road track they'd be the same if not worse than a week of daily driving.

i will have to research these a bit more......

i too have been considering Axxis ULTs and GranSport GS5s

what about the latest stop tech pads

1 thing i dont want to do is become a brake pad buyer, when at the end of the day, i should have just bought the ds2500's & put the time & effort into cleaning my wheels

thanks for the input

I have moved on to dedicated track brakes, but two pads I tried as street/track pads were the DS2500's and Racing Brake ET700's. I will be buying a new set of the ET700's for street pads. They have better bite and modulation than the DS2500's and don't dust any worse than the DS2500's. I really like them for a performance street pad.

And if you ever do start to push them, they do take heat better than the DS2500's and will get by as a 'light' tack day pad.

I ran them with the stock rotors with good results. My track driving just started to exceed what they were capable of.

Aby, I've ran the PFC z-rated pads on the track and used them for DD duty with no heavy dusting even after a track day. And they can stop you with ease from those speeds you mentioned....

The CL RC5+ is much stouter than the Axxis Ults...far higher temperature threshold, and more bite. I have no experience with that particular GS compound.

The RC5+ also has higher temp threshold and more bite than the latest StopTech pads. I had an Evo customer run them back to back at a time attack, and the RC5+ took the beating much better than the ST's. I've personally run both back-to-back as well, and the RC5+ is definitely more track oriented/higher performance (but they do cost more).

DS2500 is a great pad, but the dust is definitely a bit heavier.

Hah! the stoptechs are great but dust twice as much as the 2500's... i have used both sets for DD. Really similar pads though in terms of feel and wear.
