Crosswinds
Crosswinds
The Evo is not exactly a low profile vehicle. Yesterday, I was following an old full size van on the highway when a large gust suddenly hit and I watched the van driver blunder into the other lane before he could collect his charge. Meanwhile, in my Evo, I could hear the increased wind noise but otherwise, no effect.
I used to drive a '92 DSM awd turbo and it also was immune to crosswinds. Also, in my garage, is a '04 WRX and on windy days you need a firm grip on the steering wheel when driving in crosswinds because it will try to make a lane excursion anytime you come out from under an overpass on the interstate.
So, Mitsubishi has the crosswinds thing figured out and this has been true for a long time. What is there about the Mitsubishi suspensions that allows them to handle crosswinds so well?
