I just installed Ohlins R&T coilovers on my Evo X. The instructions say recommended starting rebound settings are 10 clicks. Does anyone know if they mean 10 clicks open from fully closed? Or do they mean 10 clicks closed from fully open?

if you go from fully open you will not be able to find the "zero" setting. Best go from fully stiff and then go 15 clicks softer.. for start... then you can stiffen it a bit..

Ok, thanks. Just heard back from Öhlins. They count all clicks from full-stiff: Turn the adjuster clockwise until it stops. If it bottoms out in-between a click, rotate it back to the complete click, and count from there.

Ohlins is now very reasonably priced.

So 8k/10k spring set up is better than default 10k/8k setup?

I do track days, but not racing at all, prefer mild-understeer than too much oversteer.

Should I buy extra 10k Swift springs and try 10k/10k setup instead?

or extra 8k springs for 8k/8k setup if more DD is focused?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Definitely try the out of box set up first. There's a reason why it comes with the springs and recommended set up that it does. I've had mine since April. Assembled, installed with ride height set up, alignment and corner balancing at Touge Factory. I daily drive my car and do about 1 track day per month all summer. Set 10 clicks like Ohlins recommends, they handle well on the track and are still comfortable on the crappy streets of Chicagoland. On track, I push the car hard. Road America and The Autobahn, Joliet. Very neutral handling. Not too much body roll even with 275mm ultra high performance summer tires. This is on a full weight street car. 3432 lbs with 3/4 of a tank.

we tried 10/8 and 8/10 and 10/8 is ok but a bit too understeery for my taste...

8/10 is much nicer for DD as far as comfort is concerned and is quite sharp to drive and rotates the car nicely... maybe even too much for some tastes..

I would run it 8/9 for a DD.. on a evo 9

can you be more specific with which tires? Technically Conti DWS are UHP tires and some people consider Hankook RS-3's UHP tires, and those 2 are drastically different when it comes to grip levels and handling capabilities
