How to Improve my Evo 5 handling?
Hi Guys,
can anyone share on how to improve my Evo 5 handling as my car have alot of klock sound especially when going thru uneven bump and road surface.
Should i change my suspension and whole car bushings as my car is already 13 years?
Or can i change only the crucial bushings but can someone advise me which and where?
Thank you

What are you looking to do with your car ? Just street ? Full race ?
You seem to always be chasing lots of gremlins with your car....You may want to find a better mechanic and leave these issues to him (or her).

I take great pride on my old ride and im hoping to get some info's on my handling as well since my ride is already 13 yrs and i preferred street and touge set-up.
go to the the nose of the car. push down and try to bounce the front end. it shouldnt move excessively... go to the rear... same thing. if the struts slow the rebound and control the movement they are still decent. and i would go with just bushings.
since you want to togue.. which i'm not quite sure what that is. you would probably want to upgrade the struts and springs just for better control. maybe even sway bars... i'm not sure how good your stock ones are...
my personal experience is a lot can be done with tires. i usually run yoko's but this last time i changed them i was tight on cash and went for khumo ecstas... HORRIBLE tire. they are noisier bumpier and more ridged. not compliant and grippy like the yoko's. you might wanna look into a nice set of tread as well

put the car on a lift or jack stands... using a pry bar apply pressure to the control arms one at a time and look for excessive play. they should move a few fractions of an inch but if you move one like a 1/4 of an inch that bushing is toast. also look at the ball joints you can regrease them for the most part. just use extreme high temp grease.
personally on a car that old i would get a complete energy suspension bushing kit and change them all... the kit usually runs about 200.
