Smile Just Bought The Conti Extremes!

Well..

I did it..

I just bought the Conti Extremes from the Tire Rack...

At $111.00 a rattle, and through Fireballs input and Neil at the Racks expertise , these were my selection..seemed to be the best tire for Wisconsin were it can be bad, but for the most part the roads are just ****TY and not really SNOWY because of all the salt they use on the roads..

Plus, I can drive these on dry more than the dedicated snows and won't have to worry about burning through the snow tires abnormally..

I do envy those guys that can buy the Conti Extreme with the notion that if they aren't as good as they thought as the snow season goes on, they will just buy a dedicated set of snows..( )

I wish I had their money because I struggled with this decision to go SNOWS or ALL SEASONS for at least a week..

The EXTREMES are on the way, so hopefully I will not be dissapointed..

Fingers are crossed and full report to follow!

Thanks Neil and Fireball!

Okay..
Just left the dealership..(Renner in milwaukee) with the new Conti Extremes and WOW!!

I feel like I am in a Diamante with HP and HANDLING!! The car is totally different..still feels like an EVO but softer..

Soft but precise over bumps and in curves..
Almost feels a hair slower, but definately different!!

(At high speeds like 80 or so, I get an "under heavy braking" shudder though..
Could this be the tires or are my fricken brakes warped again??!! Tires I guess cuz I didn't get that shudder before the swap.. )

I like them!! I can't wait till the snow tonight so I can test them in the bad stuff. (the reason I bought them in the first place..)

They are definately a softer tire, but not like a cheap all season or anything..The tread is awesome!! I do feel a lot more secure on the road...and to think, I still have 5,000 miles left on my ADVAN'S!! This means they go back on in the summer for at least another season!!..

(Fireball says I "baby" my car, but look in your rearview mirror bub...IT'S JUST ME babying my way on yer ***!! )

Great choice, good handling and the snow test to follow! I can't wait!! Thanks again Fireball and Neil! Highly recommend them and these Conti Extremes!!

Shudder feeling on steering wheel

I've had my ContiExtreme over 1000 miles now and I have this shudder on certain road surfaces at first. It seems very sensitive to the type of roads you are on. I though it was out of balance at first, but on most road, it rides smooth, no steering wheel shudder. I know exactly what you have, I think it's just the material or pattern of the tires. It has smoothed out now after a while and doesn't shudder as much on the same bad road. Get's better with wears I guess.

WOW!!!!

I HIGHLY
recomend that anyone looking for a capable and inexpensive performance snow/all-season GO BUY THESE TIRES!!!!

I drove into work this morning and felt EXTREMELY comfortable with the way these tires handle!! The conditions were icy and wet, with some patches of snow..

I can tell you, I know that I made the right decision by buying these tires after putting some sloppy miles on them..They almost feel BETTER for all around handling then the ADVANS!!

They are AWESOME!!

If you do not have an all-season tire on your car now, BUY THE CONTI EXTREMES IMMEDIATELY !!

Looks good. I'm in Milwaukee also with a silver EVO but went with Enkei RS5's and true snows. I am kind of an extremeist and always get a set of wheels with dedicated snows on them. You should be plenty safe with those conti's though. The little bit of snow this morning was a big tease. A good test will be about 4 inches.
