Tire fitment

So im a little confused on how this whole tire fitment deal works. I current have an evo 9 mr it is lowered on springs, i believe they are hotchkiss springs. I have work emotion cr kai in 17x9 +28 offset. I currently have 245/45/17 tires and they rub a little when the car is driving. what tires would i need to not make them rub anymore. i also have a 3mm spacer on them right now to clear brembos. i was wondering is a 255 40 17 tire would rub worse or not at all. thanks for any input

The 255's are a tad shorter, but wider, so you might have the same issue just in a different spot. Many use 245/40-17 with good luck.
