After the shock swap that did not help we inspected at least half and hour checking EVERY control arms and bushings. There is no bearing noise or play. They only very little play when forcing the wheel is from the inner toe bushing that slightly moves.

On the road the car want to go everywhere with small bumps on horrible road in our third world country streets here in Quebec. With correction of the sterring it wobble a few seconds.

No noise whatsoever and change tie rod and end links worn up front just to be sure.


Wondering if even my new tires could be the problem but I doubt it as it does it with my winter setup.

i replaced those bushings too. you could wiggle mine side to side and make them knock. makes a huge difference, and makes aligning the car impossible.

 

But did the car wanted to go everywhere on the road or slight movement in the rear. What were the synptoms.

if the car wants to go everywhere check what is called the trailing arm bushings, if your looking at ther rear fender wells, they are the bushings on the lower control arms, facing the furthest towards the front, once those crack and wear out the whole rear suspension will sway and move at higher speeds.

 

I ordered the whole energy suspension kit + Whiteline toe arms bushings.

I'll install everything I can on my old ride and report back.

Really, who would have thought the tires would have that effect. What was the tire size?

 

245/45/17. It is the last HTR-Z III I buy FOR SURE. Got them almost for free thats why there on the car. But thinking of removing them...

 

hmm thats weird even compared to the stock size tire, its only about 1.5-2" overall diameter bigger...hmmm, cuz im personally running a 2454017...smaller sidewall profile. well good to know i wont run that size...ahha glad you got it figured out.

 

I doubt it had anything to do with a tire size of 245/45-17. I run that size and it is fine with a better tire. Probably the flexing sidewall caused it would be my guess.

 

Yes I have too run almost 42 psi just too make sure the sidewall doesnt roll over.

Horrible tire, more suited for my grandpas Buick than an Evo.

They do stick a bit I guess but everything else is hopeless

 

42 psi man theres part of your problem right there, i run nitrogen in the tires, i run 35 psi front and rear lower your pressure and see if that cures your problem... if your runnin air pressure set them at like 34 f&r.
