275s
275s
Looking to see if anyone has run a 17x9/9.5" wheel with a 275 on a stock strut. It seems that everyone has coilovers. Searched but everyone has coils, really looking to avoid any sort of wild fender mods if possible.
Looking for wheels to run a 275 R comp but not willing to throw my $ away or destroy my rear 1/4 panel. I am looking at getting Hankook z214s
Please list
wheels
what tires
mods/spacers/suspension

If you want to run a 275 for the sake of running a fatty tire then disregard.. But I ran the 245 z214 C71's on GTWorx/Bilsteins for 4 events and that was about all the tire I would try. More grip would just net more roll and it was hard enough with ~2.2* camber to keep the front edges from killing themselves.
I dialed in more pressure each run till the grip fell off noticeably and still had too much tire roll. It was at about 40psi where grip really dropped but by 37 I could tell it was starting to get slower in sustained cornering and putting the power down pulling through corner exit. 35front and 34 was the best but even with now 10k/12k springs I needed more than 2.2*. Had to sacrifice grip for tire life and upped the front to 37.
A 275 would have more grip and should create more issues unless you can run 3-3.5* camber. BTW, this is also with whiteline front and hotchkiss rear sway bars.

I ran a 275/40/17 v710 and a 275/40/17 Falken RT615 when I was in stock class a couple years ago w/ stock camber bolts maxed out. I didn't really have any issues with it rubbing the stock struts in front or the fenders in rear. The only place I got rubbing was on the trailing arm.
This was on:
Stock Evo 9 Enkeis
5mm spacer in front (as allowed by stock class rules)
Stock MR Bilsteins w/ stock springs

275s on stock wheels WOW, Pics? haha.
Currently on Swift spec r's
Re valved bilsteins
f&r whiteline sways
Really looking to maximize grip without having to cut my car to pieces. I just feel like a 245 is still kind small.
RJones what setup are you currently running?
