SCCA BSP modifications
nothing wrong with the DV or ported EM/IM/O2. Ported turbo hotside is illegal as is the JDM rear bumper and depending on what you had to do to fit the Ebay intercooler it may also be illegal. Depends on what OSGiken part you have, their clutches aren't bsp legal but their diffs are.
To the OP, Diffs are able to be replaced with anything as long as you keep the stock final drive ratio and it's not electronically controlled. RCK is illegal but really only because you have to install different tie rod ends.

What about a Beatrush under-engine cover? I am guessing that that would put the car in Street Modified as well, correct?
These rules sure are nit picky... I am starting to think I should just go to Street Modified to not have to deal with all the details.

This is the case for many of us, myself included, who starts to modify our cars to our liking, and than get into racing. We suddenly come to the realization the mods we have puts us in a class where we're usually not competitive at all becasue everyone else has taking full advantage of the rules, and we are left to eat their dust!

Because if your in SM due to a jdm rear or ported hot-side you are probably under-prepped for the class. Locally most cars in SM are there for this reason, so it is typically a very full and competitive class.
SM often has 1 or 2 semi-prepped cars that will be tough to beat where as in BSP if you have some suspension goodies and DOT slicks then you stand a chance of not looking embarrassed. Though if your club is like the NW then almost all SP classes are faster than SM.
Me personally, I like to compete in PAX. SM is NOT the place for that.

The tech was kinda clueless on the classes and just put me in sm. It wasn't because of my jdm rear or ported parts. Besides slicks I dont see how I am under-prepped. Even after reading the scca rule book I still can't see where the jdm rear with a modified crash beam makes my car ineligible for bsp.
Yeah, I get pretty technical!
