SS brake line issue

I might be an idiot. But, I cannot get my Goodridge SS brake lines to fit on my car.

I've got an Evo IX SE and the brake lines I ordered are the Goodridge Brakeline Kit part # 26052. They say on the package that they are for a 2003 Evo VIII.

I thought that the brake lines for 2003-2006 Evos were all the same. Is that incorrect?

The issue I was having with fitment is where the front brake line hooks back up to the car's hardline. The little flange that sticks out from the wheel well has this little lip sticking down that on the OEM line locks the bottom nut in place and keeps it from moving around. The Goodridge bottom nut is bigger and will not fit flush to the flange. This makes it impossible to get the clip back onto the flange.

Am I the only one having this problem?

post pics, we will help you better if we can see what's going on. Is it possible you have the lines swapped, meaning fronts to rear and rears to front?

Well the rear lines are a good 6-9 inches shorter and have a 90 degree fitting. I doubt I mixed that up. I'll try to post pictures asap.

From what I read later model ix's have different fitting that viii's and earlier ix's. Its possible you got the wrong kit.

Call Technafit. They have a late model IX line that does work.

Dangit!

I just broke my SS clutch line. My brake lines don't fit, and now my car is out of commission. I am a sad panda.

Hey therunningskier,

Did you resolve this with Goodridge? Or were you installing them wrong? Or sent the wrong set?

And..

I don't see any special application for the late 06 on the technacraft site:
http://www.techna-fit.com/mitsubishi.html

Like you, I thought that the brake system was the same from 03 to 06.

I did not resolve it with Goodridge. I kind of got frustrated, gave up and shipped them back to AWD motorsports. Who were great, btw, they were a bit confused how/why they didn't fit as they have installed a plethora of SS lines on evo's and not had a problem, but they agreed to take the lines back so that is really nice.

I've decided I'm going to try the AMS lines as, based on there pictures, they look the most like the oem lines, just with SS bits in the middle.

And they worked?
Or they're still on the way...

Thanks for the update!
