snow tires
I'd go oem size on the snows as a narrower tire will out in snow/ice traction. There are also a lot more tires to choose from in that size. Best tire for worst conditions would be the Blizzak WS70's. AWD and that tire = no issues what so ever this winter.
I second the recommendation for the General Altimax Artic. They're a lot cheaper, but honestly perform just as good as any of the Blizzaks I've used and wear great. I've been running them for 3 years straight after switching from Blizzaks on numerous RWD cars and will be buying them for the Evo this year as well. First time with AWD/snow tires so I'm pretty excited to see what kind of fun can be had.

You will love Blizzaks in the snow and ice.
But if you do more driving on the dry maybe consider Michelin Pilot Alpine PA3, (Which are awesome on snow and ice also).
I believe that the LM-60 was softer than the LM-25.

I've been running the Hankook ipike W409 in 225/45/17 on a 17x8 wheel. This is my third season on the tire and they still look near new. It's a great tire especially for the price. They've never come close to getting me into trouble or stuck yet and I've challenged them whenever I could.

Okay so I see that 225/45/17 are real popular. I don't have the oem wheel anymore. I should have classified that. My apologies. But I'm running 17x9 all the way around. Should I still run oem size?
Ran Blizzacks I know they were LM something or other currently run the General Altimax Artic and they are far far better than the Blizzacs were IMO.
Way better grip in the snow and slush, way less noisy on the dry, don't feel the roll in a corner either like I did with the Blizzacks and they are cheaper go figure

Regarding the General Tire Altimax Arctic, is anyone concerned about the speed rating? They are Q rated which is 99mph. Is anyone concerned about driving them on the highway during the winter months when it's completely dry at sustained speeds of 80-85mph?

Maybe we can get a few members to go up on a sat/sunday and roll through evo-tastic like.P.S. Pep boys has the 225/50/17 ICEPT EVO for 149 a tire. Im gonna give them a shot this winter. Went with a taller sidewall due my lack of ground clearance. I high-centered last year in the mountains....got out of the car and video'd all four wheels just idling in reverse. Where you goin? NOWHERE. lmao. I should find and post that.

Find stock wheels pick up some 225/45/17. You will happy you did in the long run. Running a 17x9 you have to run way to wide of a tire. You will not like how it does in the snow. I know I'm new and don't have a lot of posts but I ski a **** ton over the winter. Last year I ski 36 days. Most years its 50+ So I spend a lot of time driving in the snow. Been skiing now for 29 years.
